A Man Between War and Peace: Brotherhood in Arms in the Experience of Veterans of Foreign Missions. Reflections from a Ceremonial Debate on the Occasion of Veterans Day of Operations Abroad
Abstract
On Wednesday, 28 May 2025, a ceremonial debate entitled “A Man Between War and Peace – Brotherhood in Arms in the Experience of Veterans of Foreign Missions” was held in the Aula of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Sciences at the Ignacy Mościcki State University of Applied Sciences in Ciechanów. The event was organized as part of the celebrations marking Veterans Day of Operations Abroad. The main objective of the debate was to create a space for in-depth refl ection, discussion, and dialogue on the role that soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland have played and continue to play in ensuring peace and international security. A more specific aim was to address the ethical and social dimensions of military service during operations conducted outside the borders of the state.
